Indonesia Economic Policy 2012-2015

The Indonesia-Australia High Level Policy Dialogue held at the Ministry of Finance, March 7, 2016. It follows the workshop program and briefly summarizes the major issues discussed in each of the three main sessions, on fiscal policy and reform, industrial policy reform, and the international economy.

The main HLPD meetings in Jakarta have been organised by the FPA-MOF with Prof. Bambang Brodjonegoro, the then Head of FPA-MOF, as the Team Leader. The meetings in Canberra, on the other hand, have been organised by the Indonesia Project at the Australian National University (IP-ANU), with Professor Hal Hill as the Team Leader, assisted by Dr. Budy Resosudarmo as Head of the Indonesia Project. As in the earlier round of meetings, the Australian government partner organisations have been the Department of Treasury, represented by the Team Leader of the Australian Partnership Fund, FPA-MOF Jakarta, with support from the Head of the International Division of the Treasury in Canberra and DFAT (Australian Aid Program), represented by the Head of DFAT (Australian Aid Program)Indonesia in Jakarta. DFAT (Australian Aid Program)Indonesia Desk in Canberra was also involved in Canberra meetings.


On Wednesday 26 August 2015, a Preparatory Meeting of the HLPD was conducted in the Drawing Room, University House, Australian National University, Canberra. The meeting concluded with some identified areas of focus to be taken to the HLPD meeting in Jakarta. In a subsequent series of exchanges between MOF and ANU teams, it was agreed that the Jakarta meeting would focus on three issues, namely Fiscal Policy and Reform, Current Industrial Reform and Challenges, and International Economy
